Shklovsky was active in a socialist-revolutionary uprising ... Finally the attempt took place, and failed. Shklovsky had to go into hiding. "I knew a doctor. He arranged a place at a mental hospital for me. He warned me: don't pretend anything, behave the way you always do. That's quite enough...."
