John Brown "The Lan Class Ekranoplan [pictured above] was decommissioned sometime in the late 90’s and here it sits, slowly corroding. It sits in a very volatile area where the government chooses to pay little attention to. It is unclear whether or not the Ekranoplan will be placed in a museum or just left to rot. Right now it receives very minor maintenance, but not the care it deserves." -- Maybe it could be placed in the new "Garazh" museum http://garageccc.com/en as a piece of modern Soviet sculpture? It would (arguably) attract more [USA] visitors than "art," which this monster aircraft in its own crazy way is, because it did not in fact intend to be "art." It has a urinal-like Dada quality to it (granted, on a much smaller scale) ... Note that the Air and Space Museum in DC is one of the most popular tourist destination in Washington and perhaps because its quite extraordinary objects -- space capsules, etc. -- do not frighten visitors away by its curators declaring that the objects on display are "art," Art being of course [in the United States] one's best friend in high school who turned out not to be such a nice guy after all ...
