At last, eternal fame

On my way to the Giant supermarket this snowy AM in Washington, D.C., in search for items on sale, I was briefly reminded of my glory days as a "pubic diplomacy" U.S. Foreign Service officer in major European capitals (among them: London, Prague, Tallinn, Kiev, Belgrade, Moscow).

A two-person Tee-Vee crew accosted me as I crossed Connecticut Avenue and inquired (if remember the question properly), "What do you think of the snowstorm?  How does it compare to a tsunami?"

It turns out it was Viet-Nam TV. I responded to the question (again if my memory does not fail me), with the following answer:
I think there is nothing better for the imperial capital than to be at a total standstill.
My answer seemed to please the eager reporter, as he rushed after me following my brief remarks, evidently seeking more elucidation from this D.C. resident.  But I had nothing more to say.

BTW, oranges are on sale at Giant.
