Obamacare and the Space Race

While I am no cheerleader for "big government" -- having worked in the USA Federal bureaucracy for over twenty years as a diplomat overseas and witnessed all the bureaucracy's immense imperfections -- I can't help but compare the technical "issues" with the launch of Obamacare with the problems America faced, during the Cold War, in "catching up" with the Soviets in the so-called space race. Initial efforts by the USA to put a satellite in orbit were disastrous. Remember the Vanguard?

Still, we persisted, and we made it to the moon ("first" to the moon is a secondary consideration, in my modest opinion). But we made it.
