What I have never understood is why Jack Ruby -- a night club operator -- shot Oswald. Could Ruby -- who conceivably "recruited" Oswald for the Mafia to do a hit on Kennedy --
figured jail time would be better than being "offed" by the Cosa Nostra for not handling the assassination of one of its hated Kennedys properly (and with the danger of Oswald spilling the beans on who paid him to kill the president). Image from
