WASHINGTON – The battle between President Donald Trump and the spouse of top aide Kellyanne Conway raged on Wednesday.
The president described George Conway as a "husband from hell," while Conway again questioned the president's mental stability – and called him "nuts."
"George Conway, often referred to as Mr. Kellyanne Conway by those who know him, is VERY jealous of his wife’s success & angry that I, with her help, didn’t give him the job he so desperately wanted," Trump tweeted. "I barely know him but just take a look, a stone cold LOSER & husband from hell!"
Conway, who has said that Trump exhibits all the attributes of "narcissistic personality disorder," replied to Trump: "You seem determined to prove my point. Good for you!"
He later posted a more direct response: "You. Are. Nuts."
Trump also called Conway a "total loser" on Tuesday.
While Kellyanne Conway is one of the president's most vocal defenders, George Conway has frequently criticized Trump – and took his efforts up a notch over the weekend.

Conway questioned Trump's mental stability after he spent the weekend posting some 50 tweets attacking the media, the late Sen. John McCain, NBC's Saturday Night Live, and the various federal investigations into his administration and Russia interference in the 2016 election.
"His condition is getting worse," Conway tweeted Sunday.
But Trump hasn't always been critical of Conway.
The Washington Post reported a 2006 letter in which Trump praised Conway's legal acumen in a matter involving one of Trump's buildings.
“What I was most impressed with was how quickly you were able to comprehend a very bad situation,” Trump wrote.
