If you'll pardon the cynicism: 'em russkies "got back" Crime-a, but we 'Murikans are "getting back" Cuba. -- a peninsula (for the Russians) and an island (for the Americans) close to their southern border with which they have long historical and economic ties (not to speak of military bases: Sevastopol, Guantanamo). On the whole, the land of free is a winner on this "unplanned" (?) exchange of spheres of influence by two post-Cold War (declining?) powers. Cuba offers far more opportunities for U.S. business/investments/education than Crimea does for the Putin regime.
